I am from Detroit, but live in DC. Three months ago I drove in to Detroit to see family, and my check engine light came on while I was visiting. I was worried about going to an out of town mechanic, but I also knew I couldn't drive 10 hours back to DC with an undiagnosed check engine light. Curt's OUTDID THEMSELVES! I brought my car in and explained that I was getting back on the road in 2 days. The entire staff--from the front desk to the mechanic--was courteous and kind. They escalated my car because I was in a time crunch, and the mechanic called me with a very detailed explanation of the cause of the light. He diagnosed a major, but not safety related, repair. He was very honest in that I could forego the repair at the time, but I'd need it tended to before winter. He did not try to upsell the repair or manufacture a crisis. I called my mechanic in DC, and Curt's had even better prices! They got the work done in a day and my car has been in perfect shape since. As a single woman who has had mechanics (here's looking at you, Audi dealership!) try to take advantage of my naivete, I am always deeply grateful to work with honest, fair, compassionate mechanics who take the time to explain the problem and all the courses of action I could take. I have recommended Curt's to my friends and family in the Detroit area, and I cannot give a more positive review! Thanks, guys!
